Pioneer, Educator, and Co-Author of the Complete ERCES Handbook - 

Mike’s journey in wireless technology began at age 13, installing two-way radios in vehicles—a foundation that evolved into a comprehensive career spanning the full spectrum of telecommunications. From land-mobile radio systems and tower work to cellular, microwave, and broadband wireless, Mike has mastered the technologies that keep our world connected.

A Legacy of Public Safety in Denver - In the late 1990s, Mike pivoted his expertise toward in-building radio enhancement. His pivotal work in the early 2000s assisting the Denver Fire Department with coverage challenges at the Cherry Creek Mall served as a catalyst for change. Shortly thereafter, Denver enacted some of the first emergency responder radio enhancement codes in the United States, cementing Mike’s role as a contributor to the birth of modern ERCES standards.

Driving Industry Standards - Since 2008, Mike has focused exclusively on in-building Distributed Antenna System (DAS) applications for both carrier-grade cellular and public safety. With over a thousand iBwave designs to his credit, experience leading national distribution teams, and a tenure developing the public safety BDA business and products at Westell, Mike has seen the industry from every angle.

Education and Advocacy - Today, Mike serves as the Education Advisor for the Safer Buildings Coalition (SBC). After co-authoring the Complete ERCES Handbook in May 2023—the industry’s definitive guide—he shifted his focus to his true passion: increasing the competency of the next generation of installers. Through comprehensive public and private training classes, Mike continues to lead educational initiatives that ensure first responders always have the communication tools they need to stay safe.
